I took a soap making class. And then another one. I was hooked.
For me, it was just like baking, but with a twist, and with way less calories. I started out slow, only buying what I needed to make soap for myself. And then, before you knew it, I lost control and everyone was getting soap as a gift. My first winter holiday as a soap maker saw me mailing 300+ bars out to my friends and family across the country.
This wonderful and addictive hobby has now become my very own small business. Every soap I make is a soap that I would, and do, use. There is soap all over this house. In the bathrooms, at the kitchen sink, and squirreled away in boxes, just waiting for a new home.
Every soap ingredient I use is skin safe, and purchased from reputable companies and suppliers, so I can make the best soap possible.
Every soap recipe is tested, by me, judged and critiqued by a small circle of trusted skeptics, and my brutally honest husband.
I love the creation process of soap. Researching the ingredients, what colorants speak to me, and figuring out which scent complements my idea. How the end product reveals itself when it can finally come out of the mold is absolutely the best part. And it’s this end result that I am so eager to share with everyone.
